ok now that the season is ready to descend upon us

Ok now the good times have finished, and very soon after the EID holidays begin.
But what about after? After the 2 days off start for most of the industries!!!!!!
And the busy season starts with a vengeance. What will happen?

What will happen when the manning for each industry isn't increased.
What will happen when the expats are reduce even more.
With the tourist industry being pushed harder than ever, what will the future hold.
i know there are a lot of tourists who are complaining just now and it's getting worse.
It’s a shame as before all the troubles started with strikes and protests the tourist industry was actually stabilizing
What i find hard to believe also is the Omanisation between the Different sectors.
Take some stand alone restaurants with alcohol, check the percentage and compare to 4-5* hotels.

There is a big gap!!!

Well, after a very successful hed kandi last week, i think this poses to be a cracker tonight.
Might get filled up on cheap vodka before i leave the house so I can only see through 1 eye at the 2am closing time.
If its like any of the other nights Gordon Mackenzie has put on, this wont differ.
Weekend officially starts in around 10 hours and its madness all the way.
With Ramadan lurking around the corner it's my holy month of ramadan and a traditional bedwin like me must obey for the month,
Maybe i'll do the final brunch at the Intercon this week for their last Christmas theme,

The clever people in Oman Air should realize with the high demand of people wanting to go to Salalah that maybe some additional flights would have been needed. Oh well......

Anyway, see you all down the front tonight!!!!!

Now we are Mid June

Well only half way through the baking summer... Suntan isn’t that good as the family want to stay indoors.
I did manage a day at the hyatt pool but as you can see the results were not so good.

There isn’t a lot happening at the moment in muscat.

Tonight though there is a back to school disco at the ghazal @ Interconti

that should be eventful, see if you can spot me i’ll be wearing my first ever dish dash i got at my school in the waihiba dessert

Update, the school disco was superb and was packed with hot asian ladies

My first blog

After a few months of reading some interesting blogs, I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and join the club. I must admit  i would off called myself a nerd in previous years but now especially in the middle east it seems to be quite the norm. 

So here goes..................

Summer is here and its very hot. 

Looks life it might be a summer of drinking in feeneys to cool myself down each night.

Big kudos to john the manager he is now fighting fit after his small operation recently and seems to be as witty as ever.

Great new sale in the home centre, lots of stuff discounted especially the clothes......................

So whats the plan for the summer, stay in and wa tv tch or get out into the heat and do some activities.

As strange as it goes most people do more things outside in the summer than they do in the winter.

i think i have found the perfect cocktail for the summer please don’t drink to much of it as its quite potent

1/2 oz Gran Marnier or triple sec

2 oz absinthe
Sour mix sour mix details
Lime juice
wedge lime
Splash tequila


Just substitute absinthe for tequila. Salt the rim, fill glass with ice. Pour in the absinthe and sour mix. Splash in some tequila just to kill the ordor and taste of the absinthe. Float the triple sec. Garnish with lime.

So i might plan for a brunch on friday, still unclear were is the best one with regards to the price and value for money, would love to try the Chedi but its slight expensive, might just settle for the Crown Plaza, the staff are really friendly and food is always appealing. 


I’m so happy all the problems have calmed in most work places these days and hopefully the peaceful oman will continue......... 


Out of curiosity does anyone know how to use the free wifi in the airport?
On a separate matter is it me or does Erins show on HIFM have too much rock?
Also i’m on the lookout for a new cellphone, my Nokia N900 just isn’t doing it for me anymore
Also if someone is selling a mountain bike let me know
ipods are getting smaller and smaller, is the shuffle any good?
